My Why

HI, I'm Leah, and yes that sure is me to the left! :) I get asked often, how and why I got into boudoir photography. The answer is because of a friend who would not stop bothering me until I said yes, but why I got hooked, that's a different story. The first few boudoir sessions I did is when I realized how powerful this genre of photography really was. I would probably cringe looking back at my very first boudoir session I photographed, but I'll never forget how both she felt, and I felt when we were done. We were on a high. A high of self confidence, of, "I cannot believe I just did that!!!" Moments of being proud they did something for themselves, for letting themselves be vulnerable, for letting them experience something new. It was one of those experiences it's hard to explain until you've done it, but it's the best feeling once you've done it. I have cried on the couch with clients as they view their images, I have been let into the deepest and darkest secrets, I have given them a space to be authentic and real and explore, and that is the greatest joy to be able to allow someone to do that.
